Puerto del Rosario

Puerto del Rosario is the capital of Fuerteventura, located on the island’s east coast.
It is known as the main commercial hub of the island, where the most important local administrations, the university, and the main industrial areas are concentrated.

Its harbour welcomes the large cruise ships that arrive on the island and manages the entry of commercial vessels.
The capital offers spacious pedestrian promenades with open-air shopping areas and a modern four-storey shopping centre featuring fashion, technology, and home stores.

The seaside promenade stretches along the city’s entire waterfront, offering charming spots such as the central urban beach and the old town walk leading to the Palace of Training and Congresses, which hosts culinary, cultural, and musical events throughout the year.

Puerto del Rosario is truly the heart of Fuerteventura.
It is well connected to the southern tourist areas —Gran Tarajal, Las Playitas, Costa Calma, and Jandía— as well as to the north of the island, where you’ll find the coastal towns of El Cotillo and Corralejo, with daily ferry connections to the neighbouring island of Lanzarote and the islet of Lobos.
