Lajares

Every Saturday, the main square comes alive with its famous craft market, one of the best known in northern Fuerteventura. Locals and visitors mingle in a unique atmosphere filled with music, art, and local products.

For hiking enthusiasts, the area around the village offers several routes to explore Fuerteventura’s volcanic landscape. Whether on marked paths or wilder trails, every route rewards you with breathtaking views and the island’s natural beauty.

Thanks to its strategic location, Lajares is only a ten-minute drive from the coastal towns of Corralejo and El Cotillo, making it an ideal place for water sports lovers. From here, you can easily reach the island’s many surf spots in search of the perfect wave.

The road to Majanicho connects directly to the north coast, an area of great natural charm where white sandy beaches contrast with volcanic cliffs and reefs. Here you can admire waves several metres high and watch local surfers ride them with skill and passion.
